Competition: 18 holes “Stroke Play”

- 02h00pm lunch at the Millennium Restaurant followed by the awards ceremony.
REGULATION
Under the terms of rule 33-1, and without prejudice to the competition conditions of permanent application, the following Regulation of this Competition is established:
1. PARTICIPATION: Open to young national and foreign players residing in the Municipality of Loulé and other invited players (with official allowances) who are covered by the following age groups:
Under-18 players born at 2006 or 2007
Under-16 players born at 2008 or 2009
Under-14 players born at 2010 or 2011
Under-12 players born at 2012 till 2014
2. MODALITY:
2.1 Male:
All players with a maximum handicap of 54 till 36 will play in a stableford system from the green tees.
The under-18, under-16, under-14 and under-12 classes will play 18 holes in stroke play gross from the yellow tees.
2.2 Female:
All players with a maximum handicap of 54 till 36 will play in a stableford system from the green tees.
Under-18, under-16, under-14 and under-12 classes will play 18 holes in “stroke play gross” from the red tees.
3. REGISTRATION:
They must arrive at Vilamoura Golf Club by E-mail This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. by December 18th, 2024.
The entry price is €5.00 per player (includes a game round, trolley and lunch.
4. REGISTRATION LIMIT:
The entry limit is 60 players. If this limit is exceeded, the highest handicaps within the respective bracket will be excluded.
If, in any of the mentioned levels, the foreseen number has not been reached, the balance will be distributed among the other levels, in the order indicated above.
5. RULES:
The rules to be applied are those approved by R&A and the Local Rules that will be established by the Technical Committee.
The movement of players and caddies in golf carts is not allowed.
Departure time (note to rule 5-3-A): In the absence of reasons justifying the abolition of the disqualification penalty, as provided for in the rule, if a player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five minutes of your start time, the penalty for not coming out on your time will be two strokes on the first hole
6. TIE:
The tie will be broken successively for the best last 9, 6, 3 and last hole. If the tie persists, the tie will be broken, in gross, in favor of the higher handicap, and in the “stableford full handicap” system in favor of the lower handicap, and finally, by drawing
7. AWARDS:
There are 2 prizes for each level (1st and 2nd place)
In case one of the tiers has more than 3 female players, 1 prize will be awarded to the best player. These prizes are not cumulative.
8. NOT ALLOWED:
1. Parents serve as “caddies” for their children. (except in Sub10)
2. Players smoke on or off the golf course and Clubhouse.
3. The use of mobile phones during the game (must be turned off).
Penalty for infraction: 2 strokes
9. ANNULMENT AND AMENDMENT TO THE REGULATION:
At any time, the Technical Committee may:
1. Complete or amend this regulation
2. Suspend or cancel any of the laps
3. Void or cancel the Tournament.
10. BAD BEHAVIOR:
Any form of bad behavior will not be tolerated.
The Tournament Committee reserves the right to act accordingly.
11. NON-COMPLIANCE WITH THE CONDITION ESTABLISHED IN THE REGULATION:
Except when the Regulation establishes a different penalty, the violation of any established condition implies the DISQUALIFICATION OF THE PLAYER.
12. TECHNICAL COMMITTEE AND ARBITRATION JUDGES:
They will be appointed in due course by the Tournament Committee.
LOCAL RULES
1. FIELD MARKING:
White Stakes - Out of the field
Blue Stakes or White Lines - Land under Repair
All lakes on the course, including the rocks that flank the lakes, are considered side water hazards and environmental protection zones, from which play is not allowed.
2. OUTSIDE LIMITS:
White stakes
3. LAND UNDER REPAIR
All areas defined by blue stakes and GUR plates, or white lines. The player must drop the ball under rule 16.1
4. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS: 16.1
Tarred paths, irrigation equipment, vehicle marks, low walls, trees marked with stakes and bridges.
5. STONES IN THE BUNKERS
They are movable obstructions and rule 12-2-A shall apply
6. "PREFERED LIES"
Apply the “prefered lies” rule on fairways.
NOTES:
SLOW PLAY
Remember that your place on the field is immediately behind the front group, not directly in front of the back group. If they lose that position, they must give way to the group behind, namely in the case of looking for a lost ball(s).
Etiquette
Please fix the "pitchs", "divots" and smooth the "bunkers". Also use suitable equipment, namely that provided for the Club's facilities.
