REGULATIONS

In accordance with rule 33-1, and without prejudice to the permanently applicable competition conditions, the following Regulations for this Competition are established:

1. PARTICIPATION: Open to everyone from the same family.

Categories Teams (2 players):

Category 1 – Both players with active or inactive federates;

Category 2 – Only one player with an active or inactive federate;

Category 3 – Both non-federated players.

2. MODALITY:

2.1 FOURSOMES – The match is played in foursomes consisting of teams of two players in each formation, and they play with just one ball. One of the team players leaves the starting point of the first hole and the other team member plays the second shot, the game continuing with alternating hits until the ball is inserted into the hole. Thus, one of the players leaves from the starting point of the odd-numbered holes and the other from the starting points of the even-numbered holes.

2.2 Strock-Play – Matches are played by stroke play (strokeplay or medal)

The winner of a stroke match is the competitor/team that completes the round with the least number of strokes, with the winner being the player/team that presents, respectively, the lowest gross result.

3. INSCRIPTIONS:

They must arrive at the Vilamoura Golf Club via the link: Click here to inscribe https://forms.gle/8oKnLeZuPcYL6iU88 till December 24th, 2023.

The inscription price is €10.00 per team.

4. INSCRIPTIONS LIMIT:

The inscription limit is 36 teams. If this limit is exceeded, registrations will be excluded in the order of arrival, date and time.

Players registered on several teams will only be accepted on the second registration, if there are places available.

10 places will be reserved for 10 teams in each Category.

5. RULES:

The rules to be applied are those approved by the R&A and the Local Rules that will be established by the Technical Committee.

Players and caddies are not permitted to travel in golf carts.

Caddies are permitted.      

Starting time (note to rule 5-3-A): In the absence of reasons justifying abolishing the disqualification penalty, as provided for in the rule, if a player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within five minutes later of your starting time, the penalty for not leaving on time will be two strokes on the first hole.

6. TIEBREAKER

The tiebreaker will be done successively by the best last 5,4,3,2 and last hole. If the tie persists, the tie will be broken, in gross, in favor of the younger team.

7. PRIZES:

There are 3 prizes for each category (1st, 2nd and 3rd place)

8. NOT ALLOWED:
9. Inappropriate clothing. Example: Jeans and t-shirts.
10. Players smoke on or off the golf course and in the Clubhouse.
11. The use of cell phones during the game (they must be turned off or on silent).
12. CANCELLATION AND AMENDMENT TO THE REGULATIONS:

At any time, the Technical Committee may:

1. Complete or amend this regulation
2. Suspend or cancel any of the laps
3. Annul or cancel the Tournament.
4. BAD BEHAVIOR:

Any form of bad behavior will not be tolerated.

The Tournament Committee reserves the right to act accordingly.

11. FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH CONDITIONS ESTABLISHED IN THE REGULATIONS:

Except when the Regulation establishes a different penalty, violation of any established condition implies DISCLASSIFICATION OF THE PLAYER.

12. TECHNICAL COMMITTEE AND ARBITRATORS:

They will be appointed in due course by the Tournament Committee.

LOCAL RULES

1. FIELD MARKING:

White Stakes – Outside the field.

Blue Stakes or White Lines – Land Under Repair

2. OUT OF LIMITS:

White Stakes: Except holes 2 and 5 on the right. The limit is for those who play the 18th hole of the millennium.

3. LAND UNDER REPAIR

All areas defined by blue stakes and GUR signs, or by white lines. The player must drop the ball under rule 16.1

4. IMMOVABLE OBSTRUCTIONS: 16.1

Tarmac paths, irrigation equipment, vehicle markings, walls, trees marked with stakes and bridges.

5. STONES IN THE BUNKERS

They are movable obstructions, and rule 12-2-A must apply

6. “PREFERED LIES”

Play the ball as it is.

NOTES:

SLOW GAME

Remember that your place on the field is immediately behind the group in front, not immediately in front of the group behind. If they lose that position, they must give way to the group behind, particularly in the case of looking for lost ball(s).

Please repair pitches, divots and smooth bunkers. Also use appropriate equipment, particularly that provided for the Club's facilities.
