Golf: CGV President's Cup
The CG Vilamoura President's Cup was played 24th august 2024 on the Dom Pedro Laguna course, in excellent conditions, with 66 players in a shot gun in hot weather.
Winner of the tournament was Hugo Neves Pires with 41 points, followed by Jorge Batista (the club's "captain") and Magron Ghislain, both with 38 points.
Gross Champion was Joaquim Sequeira, coach of the Vilamoura club's "Elite", with 36 points.
Women's Competition was won by Arminda Von Kaenel with 33 points, followed by Carmen Tomaz with 32.
Best Junior in the competition was Tiago Abrantes with 28 points.
The special prizes went to Joaquim Sequeira (closest ball to the flag), Hugo Neves Pires and Arminda Von Kaenel (longest shot).
The prizes were distributed during the lunch at the club.
The President of CGV, Nuno Sepulveda, who is also the CEO of the Dom Pedro Golf Group, presented the club's new logo at the time.
“With this new image for the club, we intend to continue growing and evolving,” said Nuno Sepulveda, highlighting that the club “wants to further develop women's golf.”
“We have to continue investing in the kids because we want to continue being champions,” he added, recalling that CG Vilamoura has a “school” with more than 120 young people.
